About Mahakali Vishvashakti Peeth

Mahakali Vishvashakti Peeth, located in Ujjain, is envisioned as a magnificent spiritual center. The project envisions establishing a sacred site featuring:

  • A towering 121-foot statue of Mother Mahakali
  • 51 Shakti Peethas, each dedicated to a divine form of Mother Mahakali
  • 64 Yogini temples, each devoted to Yoginis embodying various energies of the goddess
  • A grand Sarvashakti temple dedicated to the all-powerful Mahakali
  • Library, museum, auditorium, and residential facilities for devotees and visitors

Project Objectives

  1. Spiritual Development: Establish a major spiritual destination through the construction of the grand statue and temple.
  2. Tourism Promotion: Develop Ujjain into a prominent pilgrimage and tourism hub.
  3. Cultural Heritage Preservation: Safeguard and promote the tradition of Shakti worship.
  4. Economic Growth: Boost the local and state economy by generating new employment opportunities and enhancing Ujjain’s and India’s global recognition.

Mythological & Historical Significance

The Mahakali temples emerge from deep-rooted mythological traditions, including the legend of Goddess Sati’s sacrifice and the origin of Shakti Peethas — sacred spots marked by the falling of her body parts as Lord Shiva performed the Tandava dance.

Additionally, the fierce goddess Mahakali embodies the transformative power of destruction of evil, as celebrated in stories of goddess Durga's battles against demonic forces.
